Sikorsky on the rearmament of Germany: We need to create an army that can deter Putin

Germany's rearmament plan is not a cause for concern in Poland, but rather is welcomed against the backdrop of the threat from Russia. This was stated by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski in an interview with dpa, PAP and AFP, , according to n-tv.

"We are good allies, and we must build armed forces that do not intimidate anyone, but rather deter Putin," he said.

According to Sikorski, Poland sees Germany's rearmament as an "urgent Polish-German challenge" to counter the threat from Russia. In particular, Russian missiles located in Kaliningrad, which borders the country's northern border.

In the same interview, Poland's Foreign Minister said that the arms race between Russia and the West could accelerate the fall of the Putin regime, as it happened with the USSR.
