Slovakia hands over four MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine

Slovakia handed over the first four MiG-29 fighters to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported the Ministry of Defense of Slovakia.

The transfer of Slovak MiG-29s was carried out by Ukrainian pilots with the help of the Slovak Air Force, Ukrainian personnel and other participants who took care of the safety of the overturning and the necessary documentation.

Reportedly, in the coming weeks, other planes will be handed over to Ukraine. This will be announced immediately after the safe handover of the fighters to the Ukrainian side.

  • On March 17, the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Eduard Heger, announced that his country would transfer 13 Soviet MiG-29 fighter jets and the Kub air defense system to Ukraine.
