The WSJ wrote that the US had lifted restrictions on Storm Shadow strikes on Russia. Trump denied this

The President of the United States Donald Trump has called fake news that Washington has allegedly lifted restrictions on strikes by British Storm Shadow missiles on Russian territory. He published a post to this effect on the social network Truth Social.
"The Wall Street Journal's article about the US allegedly authorizing Ukraine to use missiles to strike deep into Russia is fake news! The United States has nothing to do with these missiles, no matter where they come from or how Ukraine uses them," the US president wrote.
On October 22, the WSJ newspaper, citing unnamed US officials, reported that the Trump administration had lifted a key restriction on Ukraine's use of some long-range missiles provided by Western allies, allowing Kyiv to step up attacks on targets in Russia and increase pressure on the Kremlin.
The media reminded that on Tuesday, Ukraine used British Storm Shadow to strike a Russian plant in the Bryansk region that produced explosives and rocket fuel.
The article says that the move coincides with Trump's attempts to pressure Moscow to start negotiations to end the war.
- In November 2024, The Times reported that the United States had allegedly given the green light to Ukraine to use British Storm Shadow missiles for long-range strikes against Russia.
- In August, the media reported that the United States was actually preventing Ukraine from using Storm Shadow missiles to strike Russian territory because of Biden's fears of a possible escalation of the conflict.
