Ukraine has launched production of 4 million drones per year – Umerov

Ukraine is capable of producing 4 million drones a year. This was stated by the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, , according to a correspondent of LIGA.net.

"And this year we will deliver more than 4 million drones to the frontline. As of today, the frontline has already received up to 1.5 million drones – these are all purchases made by the Defense Procurement Agency, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection, and the brigades themselves," he said .

According to the head of the Ministry of Defense, in 2024 there were many requests from brigades to receive direct funding. The Ministry of Defense and the Cabinet of Ministers worked on this and allocated separate funding for the brigades.

"Today, we allocate UAH 2.5 billion per month for brigades to purchase directly," the minister said .

However, not all brigades spend these funds. That is why the Procurement Agency is now introducing DOT Chain Defense. It will work as follows: the brigade sees the "marketplace" of drones and orders everything it needs, and the Agency pays for it.

This will reduce bureaucracy, and the teams will get what they need ten times faster.

"This scaling is one of the key factors that make it possible to increase long-range and front-line capabilities and create a reserve of capacities for the future," Umerov said .
