The heavy nuclear missile cruiser Peter the Great may be withdrawn from the Russian Navy, reported the Russian propaganda agency TASS with reference to a source in the naval sphere.

According to an interlocutor, this issue is "now being considered".

"It seems that the experience of repairing and modernizing the Admiral Nakhimov warship of the same type has shown that it is very expensive," he said.

According to TASS, part of the crew of Peter the Great has already moved aboard the Admiral Nakhimov, which is undergoing modernization and is planned to be handed over to the fleet in 2024.

At the same time, other Russian propaganda media are trying to refute this information in every possible way.

REFERENCE. Peter the Great is the flagship of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Federation, and the only nuclear combat surface ship in the Russian Navy. She is equipped with a nuclear power plant and guided missile weapons.

On April 10, 2023, Russian mass media reported that due to Western sanctions, the Russian airline Aeroflot sent its plane for repairs to Iran for the first time.

Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov has also stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing "surprises" for the Russian Navy.
