Four policemen were killed during detention in Cherkasy region – photos

On Tuesday, January 27, four police officers were killed in Cherkasy region during the detention of a man wanted for murder. About this reported head of the National Police Ivan Vyhivskyi.
According to him, during the detention of a man wanted for murder, he opened aimed fire at law enforcement officers. Police special forces killed him with return fire.
As a result of the shooting, they died:
→ Serhiy Safronov, commander of Platoon No. 1 (rapid response) of the Special Police Company of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Cherkasy region, combatant, police major;
→ Deputy Commander of the Special Police Company of the Cherkasy Regional Police, combatant, Police Major Oleksandr Florinskyi;
→ Inspector of Platoon No. 1 (rapid response) of the Special Police Company of the Cherkasy Oblast Police, Senior Police Lieutenant Denys Polovynka;
→ Volodymyr Boyko, community officer of the Community Relations Sector of the Prevention Department of the Cherkasy District Police Department, combatant, police major.

A community officer of the Community Relations Sector of the Prevention Department of the Cherkasy District Police Department, Senior Lieutenant Oleksandr Shpak, was also wounded.
Vyhivskyi expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the killed policemen.
- On July 12, 2025, a resident of the village of Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka in the Kyiv region detonated a grenade in the presence of a police unit the attack resulted in five police officers being injured.
- On October 24, in the Zhytomyr region, as a result of explosives detonation four people were killed on the platform of the station, including a border guard.
