A Ukrainian detained at a Polish airport faces five years in prison.

A 23-year-old Ukrainian citizen, detained at Warsaw's Chopin Airport with equipment for jamming radio signals, could face up to five years in prison. This was reported by reports RMF24.
According to Piotr Antoni Skiba, spokesman for the Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office, the man has been charged with attempting to disrupt radio communications by possessing equipment that could have been used for illegal activities.
The incident occurred in December 2025. Airport security noticed a young man who had been in a terminal restaurant for several hours. During a search, a radio jamming device was found on him.
The detainee was identified as Ukrainian citizen Ilya S. During the search, information storage devices were also seized from him and handed over to an expert from the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime to determine their content and purpose.
"The suspect gave very lengthy explanations, but they do not answer the most important questions. He claims that the devices he had with him are legal," prosecutor Skyba said.
During questioning, Ilya S. stated that before arriving in Poland, he had been in various countries, including Dubai, Canada, Greece, and Italy. The prosecutor's office is analyzing surveillance camera footage from other days to determine if the man had previously appeared at the airport.
