Devon County Council reported that roads were blocked in several "key locations" and that there were "fallen trees and flooding across the network, blocking many routes."

In Northern Ireland, where potentially devastating winds are forecast, more than 10,000 homes were left without power and more than 300 schools were closed. Several domestic flights to and from Belfast Airport were canceled.

The ferry service between Belfast and Liverpool was canceled, and several scheduled flights from Belfast to Larne were canceled on Tuesday.
