In Kyiv, a house caught fire as a result of the fragments of a downed rocket falling. This happened in the Darnytsia region. The structures of the technical and 16th floors were destroyed.

According to preliminary information, 30 people were evacuated on the spot, 3 were injured,1 person died - State Emergency Service reports.

Canada, together with its international partners, will demand punishment for the leaders of the Putin regime, the country's Foreign Ministry said. Canada also welcomed the decision by the International Court of Justice for the Russian troops to be withdrawn from Ukraine.

Japan is getting ready to receive refugees from Ukraine, according to the Japan News.

Russian sabotage groups may enter Ukraine from Europe, the National Security and Defence Council's Centre for Countering Disinformation has warned.

The enemy is trying to fortify where it has managed to occupy territory, all subsequent offensives are unsuccessful, according to an evening report from the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff on 16 March.

The key points are:
• the enemy has not achieved its strategic objective in the offensive;
• The Russian Federation continues bombing Ukrainian cities from the air from the territory of Belarus;

"The enemy does not abandon attempts to advance the South of the town of Izyum, probably in order to continue the offensive in the direction of Slavyansk. There has been no success," the General Staff notes.

South Bug - the enemy continues attempts to hold on an occupied position. They are trying to relocate surviving equipment after the AFU strike on the Kherson airfield, which is temporarily under the enemy's control.
It is also known that Russian ships are blocking ship traffic in the Northwestern part of the Black Sea.

A SU-25 and SU-35 have been destroyed and shot down in the Kyiv region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have cleared 10 enemy aerial targets in one day. This was reported by the AFU Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhnyy.

• The consequences of the criminal actions of the Russian occupiers could be catastrophic. They have already seized two Ukrainian nuclear power plants - Chornobyl and Zaporizhzhya.

• Already three million refugees from our state are fleeing to other countries. There could be several times that number. The migration crisis related to the war in Syria, which was also largely provoked by Russia, will be surpassed if NATO sits idly by.

I know only one thing - we’re not going to forgive these bastards for what they’re doing to Ukraine! I want the whole world to hear this: Mariupol is Ukraine! The Azov Regiment and other defenders are doing everything possible to protect the city.

Renowned volunteer, paramedic, and People’s Hero of Ukraine Yulia Payevska (codename Tayra) and her driver Serhii were captured by Russians, volunteer Natalia Voronkova informs.

Yulia Payevska was saving the lives of civilians and the military in Mariupol.

On 16 March, the AFU air defence destroyed three Russian Su-30cm fighters, one Su-34 bomber, one aircraft of unspecified type, two helicopters and one tactical-operational level UAV.

Russian invaders have carried out an airstrike on the Neptun pool in Mariupol, Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko informs.

Destruction of the Drama Theater of Mariupol, where hundreds of people were taking shelter

The occupiers’ plane dropped a bomb on the theater building where hundreds of Mariupol civilians were hiding, the Mariupol City Council reports.

It is still impossible to assess the scale of this terrible and inhumane act because the shelling of city’s residential areas goes on.

It is known that after the bombing the central part of the Drama Theater collapsed and the entrance to the bomb shelter located in the building was blocked by debris.
