"All the soldiers bravely defending the city are doing their best to prevent the enemy from advancing further," it reported.
Ukrainian servicemen try to help locals who have been living under constant airstrikes for days.
"On 13 March, missile strikes were launched against facilities in Uman, Ivano-Frankivsk and Starichi using strategic aviation aircraft," the report said.
According to the General Staff, Russian servicemen are refusing en masse to fight with Ukraine despite the promise of veteran status and remuneration.

In the Volyn direction, the enemy carried out demonstration actions by units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus along the State Border of Ukraine.
On the Polissya direction, units of the occupying forces carried out measures to restore combat capability and regroup troops, and improved logistics, the enemy is actively conducting reconnaissance.
In the northern direction, the enemy focused on regrouping, replenishing supplies, preparing to resume the offensive in the direction of Brovary.
In the Slobozhansky direction, the enemy is trying to gain a foothold on the achieved borders, regrouping troops and trying to resume offensive operations on the cities of Kharkiv and Sumy.
In the Izium direction, as a result of active offensive actions of Ukrainian defenders, the enemy suffered losses in the area of the settlements of Topolske, Shpakivka, Donetsk and retreated.
In the Donetsk and Tavriya directions, enemy units are trying to carry out assault operations, concentrating their main efforts on advancing in the direction of Severodonetsk.
In the South Bug direction, the enemy is trying to conduct raids and gain a foothold on the achieved frontiers.

The US State Department and UNESCO have reacted to the killing of American journalist Renaud by Russian occupiers in Ukraine.
"We are shocked that journalists and cameramen - who are not part of the conflict - have been killed and injured by Kremlin forces in Ukraine. We extend our condolences to all those affected by this horrific violence. This is another horrific example of the Kremlin's indiscriminate actions," said State Department spokesman Ned Price.
"Journalists play a critical role in reporting during conflict, they should never be targeted. I call for respect for international humanitarian standards, to make sure that journalists and other media workers are protected," UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay said in a statement.

“Temporary protection” for citizens of Ukraine in the EU countries.
In connection with Russia’s war against Ukraine, Ukrainian citizens can apply for international protection in the EU. In addition to the well-known refugee status, another tool has become relevant – “temporary protection”.
Temporary protection does not mean obtaining refugee status, however, individuals who have received temporary protection in the EU can apply for refugee status at any time.
Term of temporary protection.
- It lasts for 1 year, this period can be automatically extended to the next year depending on the situation in Ukraine
- Rights of the individuals receiving the temporary protection
- residence permit for the period of temporary protection (for 1 year with the possibility of extension)
- access to work (there is no requirement to wait 6 months in contrast to obtaining refugee status in this case)
- access to education. Children under the age of 18 have the right to study in educational institutions equally with the citizens of the host country
- provision of housing (settling in the centre or providing livelihoods)
- access to social security
- access to health care
- the right to relevant information on temporary protection
- the opportunity to obtain refugee status in the future
- the opportunity to return to the country of citizenship at any time.
The specific rights of a person who has applied for temporary protection are determined by the domestic law of a particular EU country. Therefore, in order to use them, you need to apply for a residence permit to the authorities of the country concerned with temporary protection. There, displaced Ukrainians must be issued a document explaining their status and rights in a language they understand.
Persons covered by temporary protection
1. citizens of Ukraine who were forced to leave Ukraine on February 24, 2022, or after that date as a result of a military invasion by Russian troops
2. stateless persons and citizens of third countries, except Ukraine, who enjoyed international protection or equivalent national protection in Ukraine until February 24, 2022
3. family members of the first two categories, including spouses (including unregistered marriages, if recognized by the EU Member State concerned) and their minor unmarried children or the children of their spouses, regardless of whether they were born in wedlock or out of wedlock or adopted), as well as their close relatives who lived with them in the family at the time of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and who were fully or mostly dependent on persons from the first two categories
4. citizens of third countries who legally resided in Ukraine until February 24, 2022, on the basis of a valid permanent residence permit issued in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, and who cannot return to their country or region of origin in safe and long-term conditions.

• Since 11:22 March 9, 2022 there is no power supply in Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant
• According to the management of the power plant an extra supply of diesel fuel for diesel power plants was delivered in order to provide emergency power supply to the storages of spent nuclear fuel (storage 1 and storage 2) and the New Safe Confinement above the New Shelter facility.
• Currently it is impossible to perform operational control over the situation regarding nuclear and radiation safety, as well as control over nuclear materials at the facility.
• Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant and the town of Energodar are still under the control of Russian troops.
• The current state of energy blocks is without change: two energy blocks are operational, two are under repair, the rest have been stopped.

Over the past day, on March 12, The Security Service of Ukraine detained Russian informants in Kharkiv, Odessa and Severodonetsk.
• In Kharkiv, the SBU exposed a man who collected data on the location and movement routes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the coordinates of infrastructure facilities. That gave the opportunity for occupiers to carry out missile and bomb attacks. The married couple who collaborated with Intelligence agencies of Russia were also detained: the man helped to correct the shelling, and the woman promoted the ideas of the occupiers on social networks.
• In Odesa: an agent was detained who was collecting information about the defensive structures that the Self-Defence forces had set up in the region.
• In Severodonetsk, the SBU exposed a local woman who was helping enemy troops bomb the city.
