Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed Ukrainians:
"I wish you health, united country! I did not say united by accident. The seventh day of a terrible war has begun. A war that we feel the same way. We have more unity in this time than we have had in thirty years. At first we felt the same fear, then we felt the same pain. And now everything is the same. Except victory. Except truth. Except peace. Except the peace we want to come to. Except for the lives of our people that we are experiencing. Except Ukraine. In this time, we have become a unitary whole. We have forgiven each other a lot. We have fallen in love with each other. We help each other. We are afraid for each other. Yesterday morning on Freedom Square we were all Kharkiv citizens. Then the enemy blew us all away with strikes on residential buildings in Borodyanka. Last night we were all bombed in Kyiv. And we all died again in Babyn Yar - from a missile strike. Although the whole world promises, promises all the time - never again. For any normal person who knows history, Babyn Yar is a special part of Kyiv. A special part of Europe. A place of prayer. A place of remembrance of the hundred thousand people murdered by the Nazis. The place of the old Kyiv cemeteries. What do you have to be to make such a place a target for missiles? You are killing Holocaust victims a second time. During the Soviet regime, a television centre was built there on the bones. And a sports complex. Outbuildings. They created a park there. To erase the true history of Babyn Yar. But why was it bombed? That's beyond humanity. Such rocket attack shows that for many people in Russia our Kiev is completely alien. They know nothing about our capital. About our history. But they have an order - to erase our history. To erase our country. To wipe us all out. On the first day of the war, Uman was brutally bombed, where hundreds of thousands of Jews come every year. To pray. Then Babyn Yar, where a hundred thousand Jews were shot. I appeal now to all the Jews of the world - do not you see what is happening? So it is very important that now millions of Jews around the world do not keep silent. Nazism is born in silence. That is why it screams about the killing of civilians. It screams about the killing of Ukrainians.Last night and this night they continued to hit our cities. Bombs. Rockets. Artillery. Machine guns. On civilians. Again. On residential neighbourhoods. Again. Mariupol, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr and other cities and villages in Ukraine. This cannot be explained by any human reason. No God's reason. Then what's next for Babyn Yar? What other military facilities threaten Russia? What other "NATO bases"? St. Sophia Cathedral? Lavra? Andriyivska Church? Whatever they dream of - To hell with them! For GOD is with us!
In this time we have united the EU on a new level. Higher than formal. Higher than the inter-state level. On the level of ordinary people. Millions and millions of Europeans. From the Atlantic to the suburbs of Kharkiv, where fierce fighting continues. When the European Parliament gave us, our struggle, a standing ovation, it was an appraisal of our efforts. Our unification. In six days of war - like thirty years. That is why the European Union is saying yes to us. We have initiated a special fast-track accession procedure. Our diplomats and our friends are uniting the world for Ukraine and peace even more. Neutral Switzerland has supported EU sanctions against Russian oligarchs, officials, the state itself and companies. Once again: neutral Switzerland! What then are some other countries waiting for? Our anti-war coalition has been joined by those countries that Moscow was counting on just a week ago. This is an extraordinary result. Now we cannot remain neutral!
And what is the outcome for Russia? The flag of this state will no longer be seen at sporting tournaments. Modern world culture will now be closed. Russian goods are being removed from shop shelves around the world. Russian banks are being disconnected from the global system. Russian citizens are losing their savings, losing any prospects. Russian mothers are losing their children in a country completely foreign to them. Think about this number: about six thousand dead Russians. Russian military. In six days of war. That's without counting enemy casualties from the previous night. Six thousand. To get something? To get Ukraine? That's impossible. You can't change that with missiles. Bombs. Tanks. Any kind of strikes. We are on our own soil. And there will be an International Tribunal for war against us - for them.
Ukrainians! Another night of Russia's full-scale war against us, against the people, has passed. A hard night. Some spent that night in the underground - in hiding. Someone in the basement. Those who were more fortunate slept at home. Others were sheltered by friends and relatives. For seven nights we hardly sleep. Or we sleep, but very anxiously. My dears, the time will come when we'll be able to sleep. But that's after the war. After the victory. In the peace we need. Which we have always treasured. And which we have never destroyed. I ask all of you to take care of your loved ones. Take care of your fellow men. I admire you! The whole world is fascinated by you. From Hollywood stars to politicians. Today you Ukrainians are a symbol of indestructibility. A symbol of the fact that people in any country can become the best people on earth at any time. Glory to Ukraine!".
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed Ukrainians: "Today Ukrainians are a symbol of strength. A symbol that people in any country can become the best people on earth at any moment".
