Sibiga about Zaluzhny's possible resignation: There are no grounds for this, but the decision is up to the president

Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom Valeriy Zaluzhnyi is not going to resign despite such rumors. He said this in an interview with Yevropeiska Pravda said minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiga.

He said that Zaluzhnyi, like all other heads of Ukrainian diplomatic missions, is currently working to fulfill his tasks. Kyiv sees the results of his daily work, including allocation of 20 million pounds ($26.7 million) for energy and practical implementation of the Centennial Partnership Agreement.

In addition, Zaluzhnyi represents Ukraine in the International Maritime Organization, and in 2025 managed to prevent Russia's election to its governing bodies. Overall, his performance is assessed as good.

"I have no reason to believe so (that Zaluzhnyi will resign – Ed.). However, I would like to emphasize that such personnel decisions are the president's prerogative," Sibiga said.

Rumors of Zaluzhny's possible dismissal emerged after his meetings with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on January 15. The president said he thanked the ambassador for his work as part of the Ukrainian team, but did not elaborate.

However, the interlocutor LIGA.net when asked whether Zaluzhnyi had been offered any positions, a government source said that the meeting should not be seen as a conspiracy. According to him, this is a "new policy of openness."
