Syrsky: There is a lack of combat medics at staging areas, we are looking for solutions

The Defense Forces need to improve the state of field medicine – there is a lack of staff at stabilization centers. This was reported by after the meeting by the Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.

According to him, to improve field medicine and evacuation from the front line, it is necessary to use, among other things, unmanned systems. However, there is a shortage of personnel.

"The current level of staffing of medical services allows us to perform tasks as assigned. However, there is a lack of medics at the staging areas. The junior medical staff, namely combat medics, needs to be significantly strengthened," emphasized the Chief of Staff .

To solve this problem, he ordered that starting in May, 2% of the graduates of the BZVP be allocated for training as combat medics. However, this is not enough, so the search for effective solutions is ongoing .

Syrsky also analyzed the results of the activities of the Department for Coordination of Military Medicine and Training of the Medical Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the state of formation of medical battalions of army corps.

"I called on military doctors to have a frank conversation about the existing problems and needs. The work on developing the capacities of medical services in the troops should be intensified," he summarized .
