Szijjarto reacts to SBU statement on exposing Hungarian agents in Zakarpattia

Budapest has not received official information from Kyiv about the exposure of agents of the Hungarian military intelligence who spied in the Transcarpathian region, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto told ATV, according to the media 444.
Hungarian Foreign Minister accuses Ukraine of using anti-Hungarian propaganda.
"Anti-Hungarian propaganda, which in many cases proved to be unfounded," Szijjarto added.
At the same time, he noted that Budapest has not yet received any official information from Kyiv on this incident.
"When we receive any details or official information, we will be able to deal with it, until then it should be qualified as propaganda, which should be treated with caution," the Hungarian Foreign Minister summarized.
On the morning of May 9, the Security Service of Ukraine reported the exposure of a Hungarian military intelligence network that was spying in Zakarpattia region. Two people were detained and notified of suspicion of treason under martial law.
The network was collecting intelligence on the military security of the region, the location of the Defense Forces, air and ground defense facilities, and the mood of the local population, the intelligence service claims
- On April 25, 2025, it became known that the SBU detained a Kyiv resident, who made online broadcasts for the FSB from military facilities in Ukraine.
- On May 7, the SBU reported the detention of a 44-year-old resident of Sumy region who posed as a military man to spy on the Defense Forces in the Kursk direction.
