WSJ: US finds Ukraine did not attack Putin's residence

The United States has established that Ukraine did not target the residence of the Russian dictator with drones Vladimir Putin, which was announced in Moscow the other day. This was reported by the newspaper The Wall Street Journal citing unnamed American intelligence officials.
U.S. national security officials said on December 31 that Ukraine did not target Putin or one of his residences in a recent drone strike, casting doubt on Moscow's claims.
This conclusion is confirmed by the assessment of the US Central Intelligence Agency, which says that there was no attempt to attack Putin, according to a US official familiar with the intelligence. At the same time, the CIA declined to comment.
According to the source, Ukraine intended to strike a military target that it had already hit before, located in the same region as Putin's country residence, but not near it.
The media recalled that on December 31, US President Donald Trumpappeared to downplay Russian claims of an attempted drone attack by posting a link to a New York Post editorial and sharing the headline: "Bravado over Attack on Putin Shows Russia Is the Party That Stands in the Way of Peace."
- On December 29, Lavrov said that Ukrainian drones allegedly tried to attack Putin's residence in Novgorod Oblast. Zelenskyy called his statement and explained why Russia spread this fake.
- On the same day, Trump said that Putin told him about the alleged attack on his residence. The US President said that "this is not good".
- The FIS stated that Russia conducts an information operation to disrupt the agreements reached between Zelenskyy and Trump.
