Dubinsky, a suspect in high treason, will not be released on bail

The court canceled the possibility of bail for MP, who is a suspect in high treason, reported the Office of the prosecutor general. Law enforcement officials traditionally do not disclose the name of the suspect, but the details suggest that it is Oleksandr Dubinsky.
The Kyiv Court of Appeal upheld the complaint of the OGP prosecutors and overturned the first instance decision on bail for the suspect.
The appeal agreed with the prosecution's arguments that there were risks: "In particular, the possibility of influencing witnesses, obstructing criminal proceedings and evading justice."
Now the preventive measure for the MP – detention – has been left without an alternative to bail.
Earlier, on January 15, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv set Dubinskyi an alternative to a pre-trial detention center – bail in the amount of UAH 33,280,000, media Court reporter wrote.
- Dubinsky is also suspected of facilitating illegal border crossing. In addition, he was contributed to the register of corrupt persons.
- The MP was elected to the Rada as a majoritarian from the Servant of the People, in 2021 was excluded from the faction and party. He is under US sanctions.
- On January 8, the Kyiv Court of Appeal reduced the measure of restraint for another suspected high treason suspect, MP Shufrych, setting bail. Later, the lawyer of the defendant said to Suspilne that Shufrich could not contribute funds because of the NSDC sanctions.
