On the night of October 22, the Russian republics of Mordovia and Dagestan came under a massive drone attack. This was reported by propaganda Telegram channels and local authorities.

According to the propaganda Telegram channel ASTRA, the UAVs attacked the Saransk Mechanical Plant in Mordovia, which manufactures equipment and parts for various industries, primarily for the machine building and defense sectors. The plant also produces explosives. The plant is located at least 670 kilometers from the state border of Ukraine.

ASTRA claims to have geolocated the footage and concluded that at least one of the drones seen in the captured video of the nighttime UAV attack landed on the Saransk Mechanical Plant.

Head of the Republic of Mordovia Artem Zdunov confirms that a massive drone attack on the territory of Mordovia took place at night, as a result "one of the enterprises" was damaged.

The head of the Dagestan republic, Sergei Melikov, also reported a drone attack on the enterprise.

Videos allegedly from the site of the strike are circulating in local social media. The UAVs allegedly attacked Dagnaftoprodukt, whose main activity is the wholesale of motor fuel and aviation gasoline.

Rosaviatsiya reports that temporary flight restrictions have been imposed at the airports of Vladikavkaz, Grozny and Makhachkala.

Prior to that, the airports of Kaluga, Krasnodar, Pskov, Yaroslavl, Leningrad Region, and Penza were not operating.
